14-day free trial, no account. Then $29 one time, with free 1.x updates. Apple silicon Mac, macOS 15 or later. Tested on macOS 15 and 26.
No account, no setup wizard. About two minutes from download to a moving pointer.
Pair it once in System Settings > Bluetooth. A PlayStation pad also works over a USB cable with no pairing.
macOS asks once. That switch is what lets Ottoman move the pointer and press keys for you.
The default map works the moment a controller connects. Press Options any time for a cheat sheet on screen.
Everything you reach a keyboard or trackpad for, on the buttons you are already holding.
The left stick moves the pointer and the right stick scrolls. Cross clicks, and holding it drags. Hold R2 to slow the pointer down for precise aim.

Hold L2 for copy, paste, text bigger and smaller, undo, close tab and new tab, plus an app switcher on L1 and R1.
Put media keys on any button, so the pad can run your music and video from across the room.
Game mode turns itself on when a Steam game or the Steam app is in front, so the game gets the pad. To jump out to your last app, hold Create and Options for half a second. Hold them again to go back.
Press Options and a heads-up display shows what every button does right now, using your own map.
Slide one finger to move the pointer, two fingers to scroll, pinch to change text size, like a laptop trackpad. Tap to click, press the pad to right-click. PlayStation controllers only.
Fill the screen, snap a window to a half or the center, make text bigger or smaller, or go full screen. Pick the "Window manager" preset and they all sit on the L2 layer.

Pairing, permissions, refunds and the one known bug.
Pair it once in System Settings, then Ottoman sees it. A PlayStation pad also works over a USB cable with no pairing.
If the pad is connected but nothing moves, close Steam, because Steam Input can grab the pad. If the PS button opens Launchpad or Games, turn that off in System Settings > Game Controllers. On Xbox pads, View, Menu and the Xbox button stand in for Create, Options and PS. On Switch Pro they are Minus, Plus and Home.
To move the pointer and press keys for you, macOS requires you to allow Ottoman under Accessibility. It asks the first time you open the app.
If you said no, or the switch is on but nothing moves, reset it:
Prefer Terminal? Run tccutil reset Accessibility app.ottoman.Ottoman and open the app again.
Triangle holds Right Command while you hold the button. In your dictation app, set push-to-talk to Right Command. Hold Triangle, speak, let go.
Ottoman only presses the key. The dictation app does the listening, so what it can do depends on that app.
On the page you land on right after you pay, with a button to copy it. Save it somewhere safe.
To use it, click the controller icon in the menu bar, choose Enter license, paste the key and click Unlock. If the trial has ended, press the PS button on your controller and the same window opens.
Lost it? Email support@catchable.ca from the address you paid with and we will send it again.
The 14-day trial starts the first time you open the app. No account, no card. Removing and reinstalling the app does not restart it.
When it ends, the controller stops controlling your Mac. The menu bar icon still works, nothing is deleted, and the PS button opens the license window. Enter a key and it carries on. Buy one in the pricing section.

~/Library/Application Support/Ottoman. It holds your button map and settings (config.json).~/Library/Logs/Ottoman.log and the preferences file ~/Library/Preferences/app.ottoman.Ottoman.plist.app.ottoman.Ottoman.license and delete the items it finds. They hold your license key and trial dates.Unless you delete those keychain items, your license key stays in your keychain, so a reinstall later needs no new key.
